Really pleased with this little gadget. It was very easy to set up my personal data, weight and stride length. The buttons are very stiff but this is a good thing as it makes it impossible to reset anything by accident. The device only records steps after it feels more than 6 consecutive steps taken. I.e from 0 steps on the screen, you walk 7 steps it will wait to register the 7 steps until it feels that you have done at least 6. This is a great feature and avoids it counting everyday movements. To ensure you do not loose the device there are 3 features, the belt clip is firm and there is a crocodile clip with a cord for extra safety and another clip for the panic cord. I tried a different maker of ped's first and returned it as its reset button was too easily pressed, the Silva is just what I was looking for in a pedometer....Have not tried the alarm yet...will test this on the dog walk later in the middle of a field!
